“Having access to the domain marketplace software will allow us to rapidly offer various domain aftermarket services to our customers”, says Xavier Buck, Chief Executive Officer of EuroDNS. “The software is already being used successfully in Central European markets, and since it supports multiple languages, currencies and domain registries, it is a perfect solution for our needs”.
Michal Pleban from Michau Enterprises Ltd. adds, “partnering with EuroDNS will strengthen our position on the Polish market by bringing foreign investors willing to purchase .pl names. Combining our experience with EuroDNS’s extensive partnerships and worldwide contacts creates a winning environment for all involved parties”.
EuroDNS plans to open end of the year several domain aftermarket websites based on the licensed technology, leveraging its long-standing relationships with European domain investors. One of these platforms will be launched under the great and unique domain name: domainauctions.com.
Registering a .CM also allows to protect your name as it is considered to be a typo of the .COM. Indeed, when typing a .COM domain name, people often forget to type in the ‘o’, which can cause a loss of traffic and also lead to a misleading use of the name if you are not the owner of the corresponding .CM name. The launch of .CM is also associated to the battle against poverty in Africa and the willingness to expand both e-commerce and Internet on the African territory. The .CM registry has thus decided that for each domain sold, a certain percentage will go the foundation “Flowers in the Desert”: 10% from landrush auction.
The Go Live will begin on August 1st, 2009 at 0:00:01 UTC. At this point .CM domains can be registered on a first come, first served basis. The minimum registration term is 1 year and the price will be announced soon. The price for the each Go Live registration is 80 EUR. The impact of .ME on businesses has been significant as they count for almost 60% of the totality of the .ME registered. The arguments for businesses to own a .ME include the possibility to protect the brand and to make it stand out more, compared to other competitors.
The Community Telhosting Platform (CTH) OT&E has been upgraded to a version that supports 10 new languages for both administrator and end user interfaces.
As the .TEL registry, Telnic, explains “This release introduces Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish language versions for both end-users and your administrator areas. The language shown will be automatically determined from the language settings within the viewer’s browser, so your CTH view will be in French if your browser preferred language is set to French etc, for all available languages”.Leona Chen, DotAsia Organisation Ltd., explains “Having a .Asia domain not only improves a company searchabiity and visibility online, but also helps a business save on cost without having to register ALL country code level domains within Asia”. More than 60% of the world population resides in the Asia region and Asian’s governments have been launching initiatives to develop their broadband capability and other leading technologies, which has contributed to position Asia as one of the largest online market. Asia has become one of the most advanced wireless markets in the world and there is a trend towards making Internet functionality available in a wide array of devices beyond the PC.
Moustapha Saya Kaigama, CEO of Netcom.cm, explains “.CM will definitively open the African market in terms of presence, e-commerce and Internet, but our goal is also to contribute to the fight against poverty by giving to the foundation “Flowers in the Desert” a certain percentage for each domain name sold: 10% from landrush auction / and for registration during sunrise and open registration Euro 2.5 per domain and year”. During the Sunrise phase, the minimum registration period is 2 years and applicants must hold a valid and issued trademark at the time of application. If there is more than one valid Sunrise application for the same domain name, the name will be awarded to the registrant with the oldest registered trademark.
Each domain application costs 360 EUR with a non-refundable fee of 60EUR, including a two years term. The registry will then open the Landrush period from July 15th, 2009, 0:00:01 UTC until July 31st, 2009, 0:00:01 UTC, during which all applications will be subjected to a premium fee and an auction system, with a minimum registration time of 2 years. Indeed, in case there is more than one application per domain, the domain will go into an auction system that will be held shortly after the end of the Landrush period.
The price for each domain name application will be 260 EUR, including a two years term. The Go Live will begin on August 1st, 2009 at 0:00:01 UTC. At this point .CM domains can be registered on a first come, first served basis. The minimum registration term is 1 year and the price will be announced soon.
