.SO Land Rush period opens today

SO registry has postponed the Land Rush phase by a week to January 17th, 2011, for precautious measures with the Land Rush opening on Jan 17, 2011.

The Land Rush, which would originally have started on December 16th, has already been postponed once. The reason for this postponement was the huge success of the sunrise period for this extension which made the registry decides to extend this sunrise period by one month.

Because of this extension the sunrise ended on December 31st instead of on November 30th. At that time the registry decided to postpone the start of the Land Rush from December 16th until January 10th. Due to precaution measures, the registry now decided to wait a week longer before starting the Land Rush. Below you’ll find the new dates:

•    Land Rush: January 17th 2011 until February 28th 2011
•    General availability: April 1st 2011

During the Land Rush everyone who wishes to do so, can register a .so domain name. Registrations will only be completed at the beginning of March since the first come, first served principle doesn’t apply during this Land Rush. So it’s very well possible that 2 or more people apply for the same domain name. If this happens, those domain names will be sold during an auction after the Land Rush to the highest bidder. Only people who applied for the domain name can participate in the auction.

On April 1st, 2011 the general availability will start. From then on, applications will be treated on a first come, first served basis. Everyone who wishes to do so, can register a .so domain name. Should you have any question do not hesitate to check out the .SO TLD page or contact us.

Only a few days left for the .CO.NO Sunrise

Opened since November 1st, 2010, the Sunrise Phase will close on January 31st, 2011. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity for all trademark holders to secure their Norwegian-flavored domain names before others can.

Registration requests under the Norwegian TLD .No are sometimes difficult to fulfill due to the strict regulations of the Registry. Thanks to CO.NO, customers will now have the opportunity to display their Norwegian identity on the Internet without any local presence restriction or any limitation on the number of domain names that can be registered by a given individual or company. Worldwide almost 20% of all registered country code domains have the recognizable .co.xx extension. Think of .co.uk of the United Kingdom, .co.kr of Korea and .co.nz of New Zealand: all internationally appealing domain extensions that residents unconsciously use when they are looking for information.45 countries are actively promoting their .co.xx extension as the internationally accepted domain extension. And now you too are able to internationally promote your presence in Norway using a .co.no domain.

Sunrise period is specifically dedicated to Trademark Holders to give them the opportunity to register their brands as .CO.NO names before the system is open to the general public. As of February 22nd, 2011 the .CO.NO will enter its "Go Live" period. From that moment on, everyone will be able to register .co.no domains on a first come first served basis.

Don't miss on this great opportunity & register your trademark related domain names before it is too late! For more information check out our .CO.NO TLD page or contact our sales team.
