What is .tel ?

The .tel concept enables the user to store, update and publish contact information, web links and keywords directly on the Internet under a unique domain name. Simple, fast and accessible from any device (from a PC to a mobile phone), .tel domain names can be registered with EuroDNS and allow businesses and individuals to take full control over how and where people reach them. While the way .tel works does not allow the Customer to specify its own web site or name servers, it is a wonderful way to be reachable by friends or customers alike with unprecendented ease-of-use.

While your phone number, your email or address may change, your .tel remains the same. You can update and customize it so that anyone who knows your .tel name can reach you. tel service also lets users decide how much contact information they want to share and who they want to share it with. Unlike a phone book or a business card that can be outdated the minute someone moves or changes jobs, a .tel identity can be updated anytime.

A .tel Domain Name can display everything from a home or office phone number, to a mobile phone, email, Facebook, Twitter or any of the increasing number of ways people choose to stay in touch. How to register a .tel with EuroDNS

The sunrise is handled on a first-come, first-served basis and registrations will carry a minimum three year term at a set up price of 290 Euros, followed by an extra 18 Euros each year.

The Premium Landrush phase which lasts from the 3rd February until the 23rd March. This is a great opportunity to be the first to submit high quality premium domain names such as Generic Premium names. Contrary to other Registries, no auction process is involved and the fee is only 115 Euros per year (three years minimum).

The Go Live period is based on the first-come, first-served method. It carries a one year minimum term for 18 Euros. Application will be sent to the Registry on the 24th March 2009.

Once the domain has been awarded to you, you will get the opportunity to specify the contact details you want associated to your .TEL domain to a dedicated Telnic platform. Any subsequent modification to your .TEL domain will be handled directly from your EuroDNS account.
