What is .MX?
.MX is the country-code Top Level Domain for Mexico. Originally exploited on the third level (i.e: www.eurodns.com.mx) the extension is being opened to the second level (www.eurodns.mx) to anyone, Company or Individual, with no link to or local presence in Mexico needed.
Re-opening of .MX is a great opportunity for anyone willing to cater the Mexican market of more than 110 millions people… Or simply register a domain name in a new catchy extension.
Principle
The .MX is open to anyone and available for Registration on a First come, First served basis.
Pre-registration
If you really care about one particular domain name, get ready for the Landrush! EuroDNS will accept requests for pre-registrations of .MX Domain Names at the price of the first day of Landrush. Come September 1st, we will submit all your requests in the order they were received in our backend.
Kindly note that the level of interest in .MX may mean that your pre-registration request will be supplanted by another Registrant; as a result pre-registration are done without warranty of any kind and will lead to a full refund if not successful (note that administrative fees may still apply, see our Terms for details).
Pricing
The .MX Registry has developed an innovative and stock-exchange-inspired pricing method for the .MX Reopening. Indeed the, price will only be known on the eve of every day.
The price will gradually decrease from 485€ on September 1st – the first day of the Landrush – to reach 44€ on October 31 – the official end of the Landrush.
Stay informed
Following the Registry’s instructions, the EuroDNS price for .MX names will go down over time until October 31. You can therefore choose to wait for the “right price” and save. However, .MX Domains will be offered on a first come first served basis so waiting for the right price runs the risk of missing the domain name you want to register – that would have been registered by somebody else at a higher price.
Kindly note that pricing information will be given to EuroDNS by the .MX Registry or any applicable third party and published “as is” and “for information only”: as a result EuroDNS cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracy in the information nor will we accept any liability on decisions taken using the information given by the MX Watcher tool.
