FAQs

A Whois search lets you look up publicly available information about a domain name, including the domain owner's contact details, registration status, creation and expiry dates, and the domain registrar.

You can typically see: domain owner (unless privacy protection is enabled), registrar name, registration and expiry dates,
name servers, domain status (active, expired, etc.)

Yes. If the domain is not registered, the WhoIs search will show it as available. If it’s taken, you’ll see the registration details or privacy-protected info.

Some registrars mask personal data (like name, email, and phone number) in the WhoIs records. You might see placeholder text such as “REDACTED FOR PRIVACY.”

Name servers tell the internet where your domain points — they connect your domain name to your hosting provider’s server.
For example:

  • Your domain = store.com

  • Your name servers = point to EuroDNS (or another host)

  • Visitors type “store.com” → DNS directs them to the right website.

You can update your Whois details directly through your account. Simply log in, go to your registered domains, click on the domain you want to edit, and edit the contact details linked to your domain.
If ownership is changing (e.g., a transfer of the registrant), additional documentation may be required to verify the change. Some registries may ask for ID copies or business certificates before approving updates. Once submitted, changes are usually reflected in the Whois database within a few hours, though some registries may take longer.
